Adults 18 years, of age and over: Take 1 capsule daily for at least 7 days and up to 14 days.

Do not take for more than 14 days unless directed by a doctor.
USAGE ADVICE The bottle contains a sealed container with silica gel desiccant. Keep the bottle tightly closed to protect from moisture.

Nexium can also be used to relieve heartburn associated with gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), which is caused by a lack of acid secretion. Nexium can also be used to relieve heartburn associated with GERD by reducing stomach acid secretion. Nexium can also be used to relieve heartburn and acid regurgitation (acid reflux and heartburn) associated with acidosis (abnormal heartburn). Nexium can also be used to relieve acidosis (damage to the stomach) associated with acid reflux and heartburn caused by proton pump inhibitors (omeprazole, esomeprazole). Nexium is a type of medication called a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) and works by reducing the amount of acid produced in the stomach. It can help with acid reflux and heartburn symptoms.

Patients taking Nexium should avoid consuming alcohol while taking this product and for at least 14 consecutive days after the last tablet. Patients taking Nexium with esomeprazole should not drink alcohol while taking Nexium.
